For 12 months, the borehole became a tourist attraction, with various people coming to visit the site. Many holes have been dug for both research and commercial purposes. It includes the Hugoton-Panhandle field, the Union City field and the Elk City field and is among the most prolific natural gas producing areas in North America. Robert A. Since that strain was always to the left, the die gradually cut a thread in the stuck cable tool. Although technically natural gas is considered a "fossil fuel," its major constituent is methane, which can also be generated from today's biological wastes from plants and animals. WebThe Bertha Rogers also happened to be the site of the world's largest well blowout. The drilling of Bertha Rogers started in October 1972 and was done by the Lone Star Producing company. Undeterred and in hopes that the economic equation would change, Hefner drilled another ultra-deep well. It was a borehole that reached 31,400 feet, or nearly six miles, into the Earth.
