PALS consists of two instruments (PALS-K and PALS 1-3) that measure young childrens knowledge of important literacy fundamentals: phonological awareness, alphabet awareness, letter sound knowledge, Visual-motor integration fell within the below average range. It is a comprehensive instrument designed to assess phonological awareness, phonological memory, and rapid naming. Use it to identify children who lack explicit phonological knowledge and have difficulty acquiring sound/symbol correspondences in words. These examiners were supported, with online resources and accuracy and completeness of the data was computer monitored. The original PAT was missing information commonly provided such as SES, urban/rural, all participants were reported to, be normal, and no clinical populations included in the sample.
